Mike Scarton was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He came to Indiana with his parents and his twin brother in 1984.  He graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in Evansville, Indiana in 1990.  Mike received his bachelor’s degree with a major in Criminal Justice and Criminology and a minor in Classic Cultures from Ball State University in 1994.  Mike pursued his legal education at Indiana University- Indianapolis, and received his law degree in 1999. 

He and his wife Lisa moved to Bloomington in 2000 where he worked as a associate attorney for a small law firm handling personal injury, family law and criminal law cases.  Prior to joining Shean Law Offices in 2007, Mike spent 6 ½ years as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Monroe County.

In addition to practicing law, Mike enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, Lisa and their son Zachary.  He also enjoys a wide array of outdoor activities including travel, photography, camping, softball, ice hockey and football.
